Outreach Team

Koinonia was started in Colorado as a Christian discipleship renewal weekend in 1977. The first weekend was put on by Episcopal Cursillistas for their interdenominational Christian brothers and sisters. Three or four weekends per year have been put on since it's inception. It is a time of renewal and recommitment of our relationship with Christ and to furthering God's kingdom in our families, our churches, our work, and our communities.

The Koinonia experience is available to adult Christians of any age, sex, race, or denomination. Colorado Koinonia is intended to maintain a nondenominational identity, and Koinonia encourages dedicated and excited Christians to minister, witness, and share within their denomination or church. The Koinonia movement is a nonprofit, volunteer-led and volunteer-supported movement with active participation by laypersons and area clergy. Participants may be sponsored by anyone who has attended a Koinonia retreat or other similar Christian renewal movement (such as Cursillo, Walk to Emmaus, Christo de Dios) or by the Colorado Koinonia Continuance Board.

If you would like applications or further information concerning this uplifting, Christian renewal weekend email the Outreach Coordinator who would be glad to talk or meet with you for a more in-depth description of the retreat. Koinonia can, also, provide layperson (probably from your own church or denomination) and area clergy (including Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, Church of Christ, Nondenominational) contacts for you to call or talk to. Koinonia, also, has an Outreach team, including musicians, that can come to your Governing Board meeting or to your church (before, during or after a service) to present a short program or explanation about the Koinonia Weekend.
